A couple beginner questions - Tuesday, May 19, 2009 2:38 PM ( #1 )
Alright so I'm newer to the bodybuilding world and I have a few questions.

1) My whey protein has 60g of protein, is this too much to be taking in one shake? Right now I'm splitting it into a morning and Post workout shake because I hear you can't even digest all that protein in one sitting.

2) Is there any advantage to doing inc/dec and flat benches with free weights rather than the bar? Should I do both on my chest days?

3) What muscle group should I do my deadlifts and squats with? Should I create a day for just compound lifts or should I include them with their muscle group?

1. Your fine..
2. incline is more chest, flat should be mainly what you do, decline sucks imo.
3. You should be doing compound lifts every lifting day, deadlifts are back squats are quads/legs.
Goals by end of 2009:
Bench 205
Squat 255 ATG
Squat Clean 185

i heard free weights allows you to work on the smaller muscles along with the bigger muscles. works on your balance.

1) Splitting into two 30g shakes is best option

2) Your chest muscle works as upper and lower, so doing incline and decline is hitting upper and lower chest. Mix up the barbell and dumbbell exercise options as you please.

3) If you are beginning, doing compounds on 3 day full body routine is a good idea. If you want to do a split or upper lower routine then keep the compounds with the bodypart - bench chest, dead back, squat leg, military press shoulder etc.

Yes they work your stabilizing muscles, and free weights are imo (and most peoples) better for everyone.
