IS this at all possible? A 7 day workout schedule? I have heard people say you need the main targeted muscle group rest for 48 hours before you hit it again; therefore, can't you work out a new group everyday?

Example:

Sunday-Chest/Triceps
Monday- Biceps/Legs
Tuesday-Chest/Shoulders
Wednesday-Biceps/Back
Thursday- Shoulders/Triceps
Friday-Legs/Back

What is wrong with this? Every muscle group gets worked out twice during the weekend. Yes there is no FULL rest day but there is a 48 hour rest period between each workout.

I am not saying I am doing this or wanting to do this, but I am just saying is it possible if someone was curious or WANTED to work out 7 days a week. How badly would this deminish results?

I am not sure...I think you need at least one day off for rest so your body can just relax. Maybe it depends on your age?

I would say as long as your eating right and getting rest at night you could maybe push for a 5 or 6 day split but 7 seems to much. Let your body get one day off.

it's of course possible. that doesn't mean it'll give them the best results though

If it is possible, then is there any chance with the proper nutrition that this could be a great way to get gains? Or better off to stay away from 7 day gym sessions.

You could distribute the workload to work, but then you run into the question of why you would want to this.

I've done a 7 day routine with plenty of rest between exercises but I burnt out after about week 6. Just my experience. Your body needs overall rest and it will start breaking (injuries) if you don't.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. You would just get burnt out and over all fatigued.

I can see that.

Speed_kills-

First, I can't see a reason to work out 7 days a week unless someone is trying to meet some unrealistic goal.

Are they going to do a 7 on 7 off or just workout every single day until they hurt themselves or burn out like RC?

They want "gains"? What kind of weight are they looking at lifting? Are they going to progress or just use light/moderate weight? At a certain point I can't see anyone maintaining this even with the use of steroids. If they want "gains" they will need rest. The body grows when it's at rest.

If they lift like they mean it, really lift good heavy weight to recruit as many fibers as they can there is no way they can do a 7 day routine past a certain point.

I consider myself a novice so my lifts aren't even close to what some guys here lift and I can hardly maintain my 5 day routine with the weight that I'm throwing around now.

At first they may see some results but after awhile I can see it doing more harm then good.

Personnaly i would follow such a routine, just because i enjoy lifting and hate rest days more than people hate leg days?

Hey if you've got the time and dedication a 7 day workout routine sounds good to me. I personally could never workout everyday because I would end up losing the motivation to lfit.
