Alright somebody else post a video already. Mine are getting lonely. Video My long arms make this a small movement but my grip has come a long way and I'm happy about that. Need work in the lockout department.

I rated it 5 stars if not for the grip strength alone.

that's pretty badA$$... If you can grip it, and pull it from the knee... it's already a done deal... Keep working your way down by standing on plates and lower pins, you'll be pulling that from the floor before you know it.. very nice!

Marc and MVP, thank you both smoundzou that's pretty badA$$... If you can grip it, and pull it from the knee... it's already a done deal... Keep working your way down by standing on plates and lower pins, you'll be pulling that from the floor before you know it.. very nice! thanks smoundz, I don't rack pull often but today it was feeling good. Even the 625 felt easy and I could have held that thing for 15 seconds if I wanted to. 600 from the floor is a major goal of mine, and I expect to do it naturally. Twisted doesn't post here anymore but he has motivated me to reach that goal, especially after directing this statement at me a while back: TwistedLink you want to deadlift 600lbs naturally?? sorry, but no, youre not gonna do it, prove me wrong, and when you do prove me wrong, il be round with the piss bottle for the steroid test. End of convo His negativity is good for something at least.

I like twisted and enjoyed reading his posts but he sometimes says things that make absolutely no sense... 600-700lbs is toally doable for someone with your body composition... I'm 5'11 on a good day and a lean 225lbs hovering around 10%..... haven't used anything since i was in my late 20's early 30's and at the moment and can pull nearly 700lbs.. and I'm a broken down almost 47 year old grandpa... coming back, a little over two years from a serious injury that had me out of the gym for almost two years.. I would speculate that anyone pulling over 700lbs or at least in the middle to high 700's isn't doing it naturally...unless it's just a big cornbread eating farboy with superman genetics...that's been hitting it hard for a decade.. Just naturally strong.. they are out there.... BTW.. Where is Twisted and why did he stop posting?? Of all the people here, he's the last one I thought would go away..

Right, but then again there are always exceptions like you mentioned. You can see from my size that I am not huge by any means, I'm probably around 205 right now, if I get up to 225 or so I think 600 will be well within reach, and I know I can get their naturally. I'm only 22 and AAS is not even on my mind as of yet, let alone in my body. As far as twisted goes, I think he just got fed up with everyone calling him out on his negative attitude, that post being one of many that had the same tone. I had my fair share of arguments with him but I hold no grudges. At the same time though, no tears will be shed on my part.

I normally agree with twisted on certain areas, others not so much. But saying 600lbs isn't going to happen unless you're on drugs is a little one-sided. Your deadlift is 515lbs and at your bodyweight that is phenomenal. I would hope twisted isn't going to go away, from his post count he stuck around for a long time, but I did notice a bit of negativity in his posts. Especially telling people they were at their genetic potential all the time. This may have been stated already - but are you competing in powerlifting Chalky?

MVP- I haven't as of yet, but I plan to soon. Jane- rack pulls, deficit deadlifts, pulls against bands or with chains and heavy rows are a few things that help lockouts.

I guess twisted is -ve mostly because hes never been able to bench well and hence doesnt have good pecs...He attributes it to his genetics...and hence the -vity but his posts are very informative writes long long posts :P

Yes but if science told him squats wouldn't develop your quads he'd believe it regardless of what experience says.

I reckon you will be able to pull that within 12-18 months from the ground maybe sooner who knows?

AdamScott I reckon you will be able to pull that within 12-18 months from the ground maybe sooner who knows? That would be nice. I'm gonna do a cycle of conventional deads with chains for the next few weeks to hammer my lockout. I've always been fast off the ground so that isn't a problem. I'm just glad I don't have to worry bout my grip anymore.

Damn dude, I knew you were strong but not 625 strong!!!!! Incredible!!! I'd be right there with you posting videos, but ever since I started doing the MMA, and I lost 30-something lbs. I lost a lot of strength. The only thing that I maintained my strength in was my deadlift, but I haven't attempted anything over 420 since I lost the weight. I never tried rack pulls though, so I'd be interested in what I could pull there. If I could get 5 plates, that would be beautiful. I may give that a whirl today!!! PS - Smoundzou, I didn't you you could pull 700. You're a maniac!!! You should post a vid of that.

Thanks guys, Next time I do them they will be a notch lower. Though these were right at my knees, my arms made it a short pull. I swear I could have pulled over 650 with relative ease and my grip would have held but the gym was closing at the time. You can see I pulled this with relative ease. I'm taking smoundz advice and gradually lowering it a notch at a time till I can pull it from the floor. I'm sure the weight will drop as I lower it but all in good time it will happen for me. Deads are the one lift that I haven't set a limit for myself in my head. For bench, 405 is the number I doubt I will ever cross. Squats are around that too mainly from the injuries I've had. Deads just feel limitless to me. Thanks again.

I think I was more impressed by the grip strength then anything.. The lift was impressive don't get me wrong that's alot of weight, but it's to your knees and your stance is very wide so you have cut the distance in 2 ways. If it was from the chin and a little closer stance I would have been amazed! Good Lift though man! Freaking incredible grip strength! Ill put up some videos by the end of this week or next week. Thanks for the entertainment man, it's always cool watching you lift.

I am pulling sumo for this cycle so that is why I pulled sumo in the rack. No point in doing a conventional rack pull to help my sumo lift. I have a sticking point right above my knees so I put the bar at my knees for this lift. I agree it was a very short pull though.

I got 500 today from the same depth you did. I'm coming for you Chalky and I will post it up when I get in the ballpark of where you are hitting. But by then you will probably be pulling 700+

I'm looking forward to doing these again, I should have at least tried 650-675 because the weight went up pretty easy, there is always next time though.
