Just to add yea looking at the lack of bend in the bar and the fact that it looks like its in a public area where they could get sued if someone drops it on them; definently not.

I too expect more bar bend. He's moving that bar pretty fast. Wouldn't it bend more as he got to bottom and straighten as he got to top. That doesn't seem to happen. He lifts the bar out of the rack like it's 1/3 the weight or something. What could it be?: Fake plastic plates?

Its from one of the past year's Arnolds. I think the plates weighed like 13lbs each or something like that.

Maybe the plates are painted aluminum or something. Do you think it's odd that all the comments on youtube seem to assume it was actually that much weight?

No I don't think it is odd they thought it was real, half the kids on youtube have no clue about lifting. Also, a 585 raw bench will put you amongst the elites in the world......for one rep, 23 is absolutely asinine to believe.

I would like to believe it.. I think it is just ONE big plastic plate on both sides. The bar is bent and you do hear the noises though. If he did bench 585 x 23.. why haven't we heard of him and what is his name? You don't just say "Hey! Want to try a 585 bench" in the middle of a BB gathering.. especially when the "spotter's" forearms look to not even be cape able of holding the weight. There is a picture of a little girl doing the weight.. if she actually lifted it, I don't know.. most likely just had it placed an inch or two above her. I think the most plausible explanation is, is that it is for pictures and jokes. They have a "spotter" or two to make it seem more realistic as YOU go under the bar and miraculously punch out perfect form on 585 pounds of iron with 23 reps. LOL, I hope it is real.. cause that would be dope to see what else this guy can do.

The best part is his written description of his feat... Thanks for all the support and positive comments on my video. I'm gonna take the advice of my fans and compete in the world's strongest man next year. I contacted them and they said I would get a "special invitation". The guy who runs it hinted that I might be a little too strong and it would be unfair to the other competitors. So I just won't lift any weights for the next year to level the playing field. Thanks again.
