You're trying to gain weight too fast. You can gain a little faster than most because you started out so skinny, but really, you should be shooting for a pound a week. If you put on four pounds a week, it's going to be mostly fat.

yeah i can see a difference. You started off pretty damn skinny just keep doing what your doing get to 180 and cut down. It does take a very significant amount of time to put on muscle though. The majority of the gains will come in fat. It just sucks that it's going to take you alot longer then it will take someone who started at say a 165 - 175lb frame. It's okay though your young and this is a life long sport if you chose to enter it ;)

i just posted in another thread that i rarely comment on these kind of bulks, but sometimes you just have to. youre doing it wrong, really wrong. you have gained 22lbs, but at an absolute maximum, 4-5lbs will be muscle. your body simply cannot create more muscle than that in such a short period of time, no matter how slim you were to start with. your body fat has clearly changed. your belly now sticks out and your lat-to waist is no longer narrowing, but rounded. if you get to 190 in another 6-7 weeks i promise you will agree with absolutely everything i have just said. the fact that you are so slim to begin with makes it a bit less obvious. as jheft said, a pound a week should be what youre gunning for, any more will just be fat. its not a sprint, youre clearly only young, so just take your time, concentrate on poundages and a good diet, and be patient with your gains. shedding escess fat is MUCH harder than putting it on, so be sensible in your approach. also, dont take it personally, im trying to help.

In my opinion you look better with some fat anyway as you were super skinny before. However you should start to cut down and control what you eat. The best way is to just eat large amounts of good food and cut out all the junk. Like it was stated above .. your body can only add on so much muscle in a year ... actually, the most a natural will ever put on is around 25 lbs of muscle in one year. The most important thing is to just keep going. 5 weeks is nothing ... wait till you look back at the before pics after a solid 12 months of lifting!

Whats your diet like? You've been gaining 4.4 lbs a week on a strictly clean bulk? Thats a hell of a lot of clean food. But if you are eating clean.... way too many calories.

just lean bulk man, your really lean anyway so slowly adding mass will keep you pretty lean so you'll need to spend less time, if any on cutting down after you've gained. Slow down. Don't worry about hitting numbers just aim to gain 0.5-1lb a week.

If you're eating properly every 2-3 hours.. a protein shake 3 times a day really isn't necessary. You really only need a shake after your workout, to feed your starving muscles..... for repair and growth.
