4 x 4 workout - Thursday, April 24, 2008 1:42 PM ( #1 )
hey guys.. im starting a new routine based on the 4 x 4 idea.

its slightly different though. you do 1 body part a day, 4 different exercises.

the 1st lift: 3 x 4
the 2nd lift: 3 x 8
the 3rd lift: 3 x 12
the 4th lift: 3 x 16

I did chest today, and it really blew me up. the only trouble im having is:   the 3rd and 4th lifts should be on a machine (so you dont have to balance and stabilize anymore). and i just cant find a good way to create the routine that way.

any ideas??

wouldn't you want to start with high reps/low weight, and work up to HIGH WEIGHT/low reps??  in order to gain strength of course??

that would make more sense to me...   have you tried starting at the 16 reps.. and then going up to the 4 reps to end it?
