Tom's book is terrific! You'll have a lot of luck if you follow it to the letter!

Thanks alot, Dak Dakota Wecome to DBB , I'm sure you'll find alot of great information here. Congratulations for kicking the habit, i know it can be a struggle as i've only been smoke free for about six weeks.I quit a 15 year smoking habit for 7 years then fell back into it during my 4 month layoff due to rotator cuff injury. So i do know what a struggle it is. Also glad that you're hear to get yourself in shape and that you've got the proper motivation. Good Luck in your goals , if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Good luck Jerry

Thanks alot to you both! Good to be here. I wish I could get to know someone in my area (NJ) that I could go to the gym with -- that's the hard part. I did a diet about 3 years ago and lost about 30 pounds and went to the gym, but I fell off the wagon.....it would be great to have someone to go with, you know? I'm not exactly the type to walk up to someone at a gym and go "hey, wanna work out together?"!

Dont wait for someone to go with. You can make great friends at the gym. And it can be loads of fun! Dont wait. Find You a gym you feel comfortable with and go for it. I too used to smoke years ago. Starting at the gym will help you to stay smoke free, as It will give you something to do and make you feel and look better! Nice to meet you Dakota, my name is Tam.
