300 Bench - So close yet so far. - Sunday, April 09, 2006 8:10 PM
Hey guys, Im new to this forum but Im wanting some advice.

Im a senior in high school right now, and graduation is coming up May 27th. One of my personal goals was to get a 300 bench pres before I graduated. I started working out at the beggining of my junior year, and needless to say I was pretty scrawny. My first maxout was only 120 pounds on bench, but by the end of my junior year I was up to 210 on bench press. At the end of the first quarter of my senior year I finally hit 250 on bench, but from then on it started dropping even though I was working out the same amount. I kept dropping until I was at about 215 bench press, but then I started it gaining back, and recently I maxed out at 270.

Tomorrow Im going to buy some NOX-CG3, because Ive heard it works well. Are there any tips you guys can give me to help me somehow reach that 300 mark?

I would do low reps but with heavy weights.

Check out the critical bench program. Yes, it costs a little money- But the results are well worth it. Do a search on this site, you'll come up with all sorts of journals from the people who've tried it- Myself included. I put about sixty pounds on my one rep bench max using this program in twelve weeks.

Yeah Mike from CB knows whats he's talking about when it comes to benching. I've read the program and I reckon its well worth it. Here are 2 bench sites worth checking out:
