Ironman,

I too weigh 265, now, and looking to get to a similiar 210, where you are currently. You said you have loose skin there. Has it tightened up at all over time? And is it noticeable? What did you do to lose the weight?

you could email me if you'd like reviewsonthereal@yahoo.com

A couple years ago I was 6 foot at 265lbs and probably 58% BF. I was a mess.
Got down to 165 lbs in about a year and half.

Now I'm 180 lbs and 10.87% BF. I'm hoping to get down to 7-8%.

I eat tons of veggies. It filled my stomatch will little calories. All meat I had was chicken and fish.
Cardio 5 to 6 days a week at 40 mintues at a time. I had to get my weight down to about 240 before I could actually run at a decent pace.

Mikey - I made sure i was getting enough calories. But I was able to go lower than usual because the veggies kept me full. I also made this drink up, it's kinda gross sounding, but it works. I would mix wheat bran with v-8. I drank that 2 times a day, I would be getting tons of fiber. Just gotta drink a ton of water. Veggies I ate, brocolli, carrots, celery, radishes, cucumber, green beans. I also eat a lot of berries, like blue, black, ras, and strawberries. I didn't care to much about keeping muscle. I just wanted to lose the large amount of fat. Now it's gone and I'm building muscle.

Good job.

You'll always need to maintain eating health if you want to keep your goals too.

That is the biggest thing I learned from when I was loosing my 90+ lbs. I learned how to eat health for life. It's a whole live style change. Good health foods make you feel better too.

yeah they do. I've been eating decently healthy with mostly cheats at dinner but now i'm going full fledged good foods. Everytime i would eat anything with high fats or high simple carbs, i would feel like crap for the rest of the day, possibly the next morning too. I'll keep you posted on my stats. Thanks for all the help.

Bench 255
Squat 405-415
Deadlift 370-380

Blue nitro,

Can you answer the following?

How long did it take you to lose the weight?

How many calories were u eating pre diet, and during the diet?

Did you have a problem with loose skin?

How old are you?

6'1 and I'm at 265 now, and wanna be around 205-220 with some muscle mass. i was eating around 3000-4000 a day before, now i'm anywhere from 1200 to 2000. i do have a larger body frame, and do need a lot of calories just to maintain. I lift 3 times a week and cardio another 3. My job requires a lot of walking. 3-6 miles a day. i try to eat a lot of "clean" foods, but I'm not legalistic in my endeavor, because once i get like that I know I'll end up getting sick of the boredom, and deprivation and quit. I'd say about 80% of my diet is good. With the other 20 or so being for the occasional soda, simple carbs, ranch dressinf, mayo etc... But the calories are definately cut in half. I take 3 table spoons of fiber a day along with a liquid vitamin.

What do you think, sound similiar to your situation?

Mr Orange,

It took me a little over a year to lose the weight.

Pre-diet, I don't know how many calories I was eating, but I eat nothing but junk. Probably 4000-5000 calories a day.

During-diet, I started at 2000 calories a day. After about 6 months, I dropped to 1500-1700. I know, this isn't healthy, but back then I didn't know as much as I do now. And I wouldn't encourage anyone else to do it.

I filled my body with dense, low calorie foods like veggies, and wheat bran....I was poop'n a lot :-) Oh, and lots of water. Most my training was all cardio with about 2 days a week on the weights.

Yes, I do have a problem with lose skin around my mid-section. Last summer I got down to 165 lbs, and the skin was sooo saggy. So at end of summer(September), I upped my calories and weight training(no cardio). Got up to 190 lbs by end of April. Now I'm cutting and it seems like the lose skin is starting to go away. I'm now 180 lbs and 10.8% BF.

I wouldn't worry to much about eating small amounts of "un-clean" foods, just watch your over all calories, and try to eat as clean as you can. When I was losing all that weight, I had one day a week where I would eat what ever I wanted. I think if you at least try to eat clean, and start learning about all the good foods that are out there, you will some day have the 20% "un-clean" food ratio down to 5% to 1%. And when you see results from week to week, this will even encourage you to eat even cleaner. To start, switch your soda to diet, ranch dressing to fat free, and mayo to fat free. I eat this fat free mayo from Stator Bros, and it taste the same with like 15 calories per tablespoon.

Thanks blue for the quick reply.

Yeah I can already notice I care less and less about food, and those empty calories are no longer appealing to me.

The soda is diet usually, I do have the occassional regular Pepsi, just because I like it.

I think people in this country are so comfortable with their lives that they've forgotton excatly what food is for. Fuel to live by. God made us to eat to live, not live to eat. i know full well i could survive, have a happy fulfilled life with 1500 calories a day. i would be much leaner (of course with much less muscle mass) happier, and more focused because my time would be spent focused on something other than food. People have come to food for a safe haven, a reward for working 40 hrs a week. Pizza on tuesdays, TGIfriday's on the weekends, chicken wings, chips, dip, beer, and antacid w/the game on sundays. It's like we've become oblivious to what we're doing to our bodies. It's 100% understandable why America is teh fattest country, and why we worship those who look good in a bathing suit - because there are so few that do...

In a way, your right about how people here love to eat. But you know what, it's the food industries damn fault!
Look at all the crap on the isle in the grocery store, it's 98% garbage. It doesn't have to be, i just so happens that fats and other garbage are cheaper and lower the price of the product. So manufactures load up their products with it.

And look at fast food and other restaurants. They have trained us to eat HUGE amounts per meal. Plus they load their foods down with sat fats and garbage. Look at fast food. If my hamberger say 100% beef on the damn wrapper, then why is their like 40-60 grams of fat! Ok, their right, the fat DOES come from a cow. Yeah....load the burgers up with fat so we can make them cheaper!

If the restaraunt and food industry changed things, so would everyone else. I believe they have most of the control over why everone is so damn fat!
