208lbs, critiques welcome - Tuesday, December 23, 2008 4:47 PM ( #1 )
Hey guys, I've been steadily gaining weight for about half a year now up from 180lbs, I'm at 208 as of yesterday when I took this picture, not too worried about the body fat just yet as that will come off in time, my main focus right now is size.  Just one picture right now but I'll try and get a back and leg shot up soon.

Looks good man.  BF isn't that high..  I wouldn't let it get much higher though.   I mean that's just my opinion some people on here will tell ya to dirty bulk it the whole time.. But honestly man cutting is a ****and most the people who say that have never been ripped with veins and abs coming through..   You can only gain so much muscle so fast the rest is just water and fat.   Keep checking your measurements also,  measure your waist to your quads arms etc. see where the weight is being distributed.   I should have listened to old navy and marc when they told me that long ago ;)

Anyway Id say maybe cut a tad bit clean up the diet etc.. after you gain another 8 - 10lbs.

Good job though man! 28lbs is no joke!  :)

Thanks for the response bro,  I wanna try and find a shirtless pic of me at 180 because I had the same exact bf.  Maybe even a lil chubbier.  My diet is pretty much as clean as it can get during a bulking phase, and that is the main reason why I've been able to maintain what leanness I have.  I'm bulking but it isn't a dirty bulk by any means, I am taking in calories over my maintenance level though so I'm not expecting ripped abs as of yet.  I've been there done that but my main focus is putting on lean lbs, as slow and painstaking of a process that might be lol.  Thanks for the comments!

Well I'd like to get up to the 230 range and maybe cut down to 220, at least by the middle of next year.  I really don't think I'd have too much trouble with that.  My ultimate goal would probably be a ripped 230-240 though.  I'm 6' so I think my frame can handle it.

Not to discourage you but 10lbs may not do it once you bulked that much...   From where  you are now you would have to cut off about 25 - 30lbs to be in that low 8 - 9 % Range.     But heck ya never know till ya do it.

Oh I know, I'm not saying I only have 10 lbs of fat on me,  I'm saying I'd cut down 10 to get to 220, that is not my ultimate goal though, just a lil cut.  Like I said my ultimate goal is a ripped 230-240.  Id probably do something like bulk to 230, cut to 220, bulk to 240ish, cut to 230, then bulk to 250-260 and cut to my final weight.  I think that's the best way to do it without having to carry a gut around for too long.

Chalky, I would do fifteen pounds if I were you man.  Reason I say this is you're going to lose muscle when you cut too.  Say you lose 70% fat, 30% muscle.  Means in 10 pounds you just lost 7 pounds of fat.  If you lose 15 pounds though, you just lose 11.5 pounds of fat.  So you lose an extra 1/2 pound of muscle, but at the same time you also lose an extra 4 1/2 pounds of fat.

Honestly If i was going for a final cut to my goal weight I would.  The cuts I do on the way serve the purpose of just making me feel comfortable with my shirt off, I'm not worried about being ripped in those stages.  Once I get to 250-260 or so I will focus on cutting 100% and that is when I will worry about shredding every little bit.  So basically the little 10lb cuts I do although they might seem small are just there so all that fat doesn't accumulate over time and make me 250 with 15% bf.  Hopefully they will let me get to 250 or 260 at around 10-11% bf and then I'll cut 30 lbs off and hopefully get in the 5's or 6's at about 230-235.

I agree with yet.  Although it really doesn't matter what you weigh you should be more focused on your measurements and not your scale weight.

For sure bro, I measure myself on occasion but I'm pretty good at seeing where my weight goes when I look at myself in the mirror.  If I gain 10lbs and don't see much change in body fat I know I did a good lean bulk.  Honestly its hard to plan it all out because who knows how I will feel when I gain another 10lbs and am sitting at 220 or even 225.  When the time comes I will decide.
