~20% body fat
-

i have a pair of calipers, they are the plastic ones that are recommended in bill phillips body 4 life, i forget the name of the brand. i've been lifting for about 2 yrs, started off slow in the beginning and worked my way to what i think is decent progress. (i need to get someone to take a picture so i can post it on the critique section) anyway, i bought these calipers over this past summer, the first time i took the measurements i averaged about 20%, and it has stayed there since then. which makes sense because i have not been doing any special bulking or cutting programs, just my regular workouts which are maintaing what i have. my question is, what does 20% body fat mean to you guys? in the booklet that comes with it, it says that 20% is on the edge of being "average to lean", or something to that effect. when i looked it up on the internet, 14-20% is considered fitness/ althlete level for women, under 14% being very lean. i feel like there is no way that i am really 20%, i would consider myself to be of average "size" for my height, 5"9', 145-150 lbs. but i don't feel that i look like an athlete. given my height and weight, what do you think 20% bf would look like? I'll try to post a pic later tonight or tomorrow.

That's a hard question to answer. I'm not sure what you're looking for. Post your picture in the critique forum if that's what you would like. We can't really describe for you what 20%bf looks like on a 5'9" 145 frame. Do you have a problem with being 20%?

hi, no, actually i thought 20% was pretty good. somehow i just felt that my calipers are inaccurate, i feel like maybe it's not that low? or i could be crazy and think i am less in shape than i really am. i will take a picture soon and post it.
