1st ever Figure competition in 10 weeks!

Hey All, I've been a Fitness Instructor for almost 15 years. Last October, I saw my first (in person) Figure show and decided I would do this very show. I've used the past 6-7 months to get the bf down to a good starting point. Right now, I'm at 13.9% w/ calipers and test higher w/ bioimpedence. It's good way to start my 10 week count down! I'm looking I guess for some cheerleaders and any words of wisdom. Checked out Italian Angel's info and found it very helpful. (thanks!) Just having a rough night tonight and need to keep my spirits up. Job situation isn't working out as I hoped and I usually turn to food. So, I'm here to have a healthier outlet! Fitday has been great! Wonderful tool... any other hidden gems out there...let me know!

Why don't you do a 10 wk countdown journal in the online journal section? This was I can subscribe and keep tabs and because I am doing so, you will be obligated to keep some updates in there, track meals and or training and or moods etc......see my journal in there. I am happy to help out and cannot wait for you to compete! Linda

I've got a log on the Journal page of this site. Doin' good and I'll keep my reports there. May need help w/ diet questions as time progresses. Doing 45-55 carb 15 fat 30-40 protein. Don't know much about precontest diet, water, carb loading and such....
I will never be done learning.... ACSM cert. Personal Trainer Long term goal: Maintain 13% Currently: 9.5%

Perfect....help would be great. At my gym, I got a snobby response from one gal that she won't sit w/ me and answer questions unless she designs my eating program. That costs $ and I just wanted some questions answered, not a blown out consultation. Oh well...you have to take this gal w/ a grain of salt! She's helped w/ weights and that's enough. I want to learn how to do this, not be told what to do or eat. http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=thewfh Lately, I've allowed some complex carb at supper b/c I don't want to drop weight too fast. Im at 121 w/13.1% bf. goal is 117 w/ 10%. Totally reachable w/ less than 8 weeks to go! ( I think...)

I love your tude! I want to do it myself, learn, not be told what to eat etc..........that is great. NOw you have to back that up and keep working on tweaking things as you learn and as you experience. I think your view is excellent! I did the same although it took me a few years to really perfect things, it was competing in 1999 that really taught me a ton, after knee surgery, time off, taking as much info as I could from the competitors I encountered and 13 shows in 9 mths with multiple class entries per show.............that taught me a ton! Experience is the way to go, takes time but its rewarding. Linda

Yeah, I've got a log but it's mainly used to discuss my mood and what I'm doing for training. I haven't put my diet up there b/c I guess doing Fitday is enough for me. Too much typing everywhere for me! I just wanna keep it simple, I guess! I really need to cut out the gum chewing here! Looked it up on Fitday and realized how many hidden calories are in even sugarless gums! Crap!
