15 Year Old Complete Beginner, Looking for advice

  Hey everyone,

My name is Dave, and Im 15 years old. Im new to weight training and I am looking for advice to get into it. Im planning on my first year of High-school football next year and I have some catching up to do after missing freshman year. Im about 10-20 sometimes even 30 lbs behind all of the other guys in every lift and I really want to be lifting as much as them if not more by the beginning of summer. To give everyone an idea of my build, Im about 5'9 190 lbs. My weightlifting schedule is every Monday,Tuesday,Thursday.  Any advice/ help is greatly appreciated!

PS: I also have some WHEY protein supplement given to me from a friend. Would it be best to use it now or when I get to be a little stronger?

If you are wanting strength gains, then lift for strength.

Always warm up well.
Train in the 6-8 rep range for optimal strength gains.
4-7 days between same bodypart workouts

M/TH could be your ticket for that

You should be eating well, the protein can be used for after workout recovery...about 30 grams of protein worth.

Lots of water.  Multivitamin.  8 hours sleep.  Healthy food.  Balanced diet.
