Hi, I'm Mike, 14 and i'm scarily skinny :(

I'm male, 5"9, about 120 pounds and I'm tired of being weak :(
I'm too poor to go to a gym and it would be difficult to go running where I live but my with mega high metabolism I don't think that I'll need to do much cardio.
I'm trying to get a six pack, smallish pecks and some muscle in my arms and legs but I don't know where to start. Please help!

try buying weights if you can, do press ups, crunches etc, eat loads of healthy foods every 2-3hours, weightgainer probably too expensive so just try and eat as much as you can. Try and make a plan of what excersises you are going to do, include squats, deadlifts, barbell curls, single extensions, military press, elevated press ups (like on a chair) , crunches or sit ups with your knees at 90 degree angles and chin ups, get loads of sleep too at least 8hours, look around this forum and you'll get loads of tips and excersises.

Bro, leave the heavy weights out of it for now. Your bones are still growing and you could end up deforming yourself and causing problems later on in life.

You've got a high metabolic rate, your body is burning up energy faster than you are consuming it. The only way you can tackle it safely is to eat more calories. That doesn't mean, go to MacDonalds and buy a Big Mac and fries for lunch everyday, you can still eat loads of calories but eat healthily. (Fried foods are full of saturated fats, they will clog up your heart and mess with your performance)

For now, pressups, situps, squat thrusts, swimming, running, and skipping. Maybe some tricep dips.

Start 'body building' when you're 18 or over. I know someone that started body building from a young age and they are getting all kinds of problems now. And to be honest, you can see where his bones haven't developed properly.

Just do 'athlete' training now as opposed to body building. And eat loads of calories, but make sure you eat heathily. (Perhaps get hold of some vitamin pills, just don't rely on them, they are just their as some of an 'anchor point')

If you can't resist weight lifting, just stick with some fairly light ones. They will still build up strength.

TIP: Overnight your body uses huge amounts of energy. This energy may include protein, which will affect your muscle mass. I know many people say you shouldn't eat before bed time, but a cheap packet of noodles or maybe an egg should help counteract some of that overnight energy loss. Just go easy on the eggs, the egg yoke contains a lot of cholesterol, which can clog up your heart.

I've heard many people say that and seen much evidence to back it up.

But then again I've also heard many people say that it does affect them and I've seen much evidence.

Personally, I wouldn't and didn't take the risk. Your body is still growing, why put all of that extra strain on it. Not just from the weight of itself. Bones develop better when they are not under stress.

Weight lifting is fine for teenagers as long as their form is good, which is the same for everyone because if you have crap form your gonna hurt yourself, especially if you do it as a teenager because it will affect their growth plates. I weight lift at school and home.

i've never seen any evidence that weight training affects growth in teenagers.when i was a teen , my workout partner grew 8 inches taller between age 17 and 19. and we worked out all the time!
I know his was an extreme case but still....

Lucky him, I've grown 2 inches in 8 years.  When I was 10 I was 5'5.  Tallest kid in my school, I destroyed everyone in every sport because I was so much bigger (average height for a 10 year old is 4'0).  Sunday I turn 18 and I'm 5'7.  I still dominate in football and baseball, but my basketball career is over now :(.

From what I've seen, it hasn't got any affect on your 'height', it's the way your bones form.

I really wish I had a picture of my old friend lying about on this computer, he looks a little like the hunchback notre dame...

Here is something my dad told me, and he was ripped when he was younger. Drink lots of milkshakes, 2 a day if u can and lift weights a couple minutes after. He could pack on 10 lbs a month from what my grandma told me.
