Your 13? You look about 18. And what do you want to know?

Well, uhm, let me first say that's a horrible picture for a bodybuilding/physique reference, but wonderful for myspace. These "lats" you speak of are your latisimus dorsi (sp.) They are a large muscle in your back that extends from the back bone down the body. They look like "wings." Other than that, what is there to know? You need to eat a lot of clean food and add some mass. You look like about 130lb. Search for the Harris Benedict Formula to figure your BMR. Add about 700 calroies to that and get to eating that amount. Make sure you eat a lot of carbs and protein, don't stress macros now. You have a longggg journey ahead. :)

buy "starting strength" by mark rippetoe. it's a book that will help u build some base strength and also help u in the long run with a routine that is time tested. if u have doubts in that, u could always google. also mr.rippetoe's videos can be found in youtube. also check www.stronglifts.com. there is a stronglifts 5X5 routine listed there along with a lot of info on diet and stuff which really helps. the info u asking is too extensive on musculature, if not obscure, and cant be covered with a single reply. also u may want to chk this link to get an idea of the "muscles" in ur body. http://www.ericsgym.com/anatomychart/index.htm

But the book is also really good on showing how to get good form.

as your working out just make sure, like connelly said, use good form and a weight that is enough so that u can really isolate the muscle your working and feel the burns! And not have to push and use every mucsle in the body to get 1 rep. just for starting out. when i started at 13 i had no clue lol. but u watch people, ask questions and sometimes look stupid. But eventually u become that older person and know what your doing and help out the youngsters. And that concludes today's life lesson lol

no probskis. best of luck in your weightlifting endeavours. and eat tonnes of good food high in protein. i would suggest using a whey protein isolate. thats what i just used for a year, i found it really helped with muscle recovery and gave me some extra strength, but eventually it will take more than that, but for now just stick to the guidelines and results will come

I agree that you don't look 13. On topic, you can use Whey to get the protein you need. And remember to eat a lot of food and get some rest. Good luck to your bodybuilding endeavor.
