iv read that 1/2 cup of sugar after your work out is good, opening up your vessels, alowing nutrientts to flow smoother.. anyone try this? or heard of it?

well you do want fast digesting carbs after workouts, however im not sure i would opt for straight sugar, i would probably go with fruits or something like that.

Yeah fruits are the best route IMO, but if you are gonna go with straight sugar, buy some dextrose and use that. I actually add a tbsp of dextrose to my pwo protein shake, on top of the fruit i eat.

ya today in the gym towards the end of my workout i drank a gatorade/water drink mixed half n half with 1/2 cup of sugar. after finishing my lift i drank a protein shake then ate immediately after and for some reason it felt like my muscles were already goin to work. great stuff

Im a big maltodextrin fan myself for postworkout and you cab get it fairly cheap at proteinfactory.com

IV fluids. When I was in the hospital for my gallbladder at the end of December I had passed a gallstone that caused pancreatitis. I wasn't allowed to eat for 5 days. i was on IV fluids containing a mixture of sodium and dextrose.

You wanna take in 2x as much sugar as you do protien. so 20 grams of protien you wanna take in 40 grams of sugar

the importance of super-fast-absorbing carbs pwo is blown out of proportion and for the most part is just more marketing hype. your glycogen stores won't be completely depleted unless you've been fasting or are doing some extreme endurance training. oatmeal or fruit should work fine. that said, pure dextrose is incredibly cheap. i finally found some (it's really scarce in japan) and will be going half-and-half on oatmeal/dextrose.
