As far as I know you will not get any side effects from any kind of protien.

Your protien shake needs to be designed around your nutritional needs. Example, you need a high protien, high simple carb and fat free shake right after workout. For my last meal of the day I have a shake that has casine and fat. No carbs. IMO, you should not buy one kind of shake and use them interchangably for a PWO and last meal.

I just use whey powder and make my own. It is less expensive and I always have the ingredients on hand. I do purchase a few pre-mixed powder shakes to take when I travel (fro convienence). But most of the time I mix my own and put the mixture (dry ingredients) in a zip lock bag.

As mentioned above, look on the internet. You can find what you need cheaper.

i figured that. Smile

truth is try to get the majority of your protein from food then fill in the spaces with supplements if needed. the powder itself wont make a difference. its the total amount of protein in your diet (plus carbs, plus fat, plus training, plus.... Smile) that will get you where you want to go.

and check this out it might give you some ideas

GNC will always rehash you on multi's. Look at the cashier display. The multi's are right there for a last second impulse buy. Convenient wouldnt you say? You might also find it interesting that they actually count daily the number of multi's sold and set out monthly ocmpetitions based on the stores totals. There is also a 4% commision on any GNC product sold so the guy was going to make an extra $3 for the 100% protein. Watch out for the Gold Card as well.

Take your protein shake after your workout.

And heck if you are bulking take one upon waking up as well since you just went 8 hours+ without protien.

I can tell you that the GNC Mega-Men vitamin tastes horrendous. Everytime you burp for the rest of the day you can taste the wonderful flavors. Plug your nose and swig em down. I've found taking them with fruit juice helps neutralize the taste. I don't want to step on any toes but I'm not a fan of GNC. I've got a wholesale shop I go to in town that can get me some of the products GNC sells for 54.00 for 22.00. I highly reccomend www.supplements101.com. Good luck buddy.

05tacoma4x4, It's quite possible they have changed the pill since I have taken them. When I was taking those they were not gel coated, it was just all the nutrients shoved together and packed real tight, so there was no nice gel coating. I'm sure they'll go down like butter on toast if they are gel-caps. Best of luck to you bud.

I have a question. I have been taking GNC Brand 100% Whey along with creatine and after about a month and a half I started feeling really funny. Dizzy and I noticed my heart rate elevating. I saw a cardiologist and he has no clue what it could be. He told me to stay away from whey protein and any supplements. I asked him if he thought it was the creatine or the whey. NO CLUE. So I stopped taking them all together and I started to feel normal again. I mean, the dizzy spells were crazy. What do any of you think it could have been? The Creatine or the protein?
OH, I was only taking two scoops or whey a day with water.

Well protein is found in any meat. So I highly doubt it's that.

And your body produces creatine naturally.

So the only other thing is the brand does not agree with you. I've had proteins that I didn't feel so "hot" on either. One made me nauseous.
